Ameresco Estimator in Framingham, Massachusetts

Ameresco's Distributed Energy Resource (DER) team is seeking an experienced Construction Estimators in provide planning and construction management expertise for the pricing, scheduling, execution, and successful delivery of DER projects located nationwide, including combined heat and power (CHP) projects, peak shaving power projects, integrated microgrids, battery energy storage projects, solar generation, biomass projects, and other renewable technology projects.


Development of detailed Independent Cost Estimates (ICE) and Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) cost estimates at all phases of design and preconstruction, including conceptual estimating requirements;

Develop comprehensive time-phased detailed General Conditions cost estimates based upon the project requirements;

Coordinate estimates with the project engineering and development team, host customers, subcontractors, design engineers, state & local permitting authorities, local utilities, and construction management team bridging project development and construction execution activities;

Attend and support design meetings with the owner, A/E, and subcontractors to ensure estimate alignment with cost and budget;

Strategically, source, solicit, qualify and select new subcontractors for implementation of projects and construction services in various markets across the U.S. as determined by project location, including meeting small business and minority participation goals;

Assist in the development and preparation of the pricing portion of RFP/RFQ proposals including pricing worksheets and forms;

Ensure project development pricing complies with company, industry, trade, and jurisdictional safety standards, practices, codes;

Evaluate alternate schemes and value engineering options, as applicable; and

Perform other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

High school Diploma or equivalent

10 years recent experience in commercial or government construction estimating.

Preferred Qualifications:

Full project life cycle experience (development, preconstruction, construction)

In-depth knowledge of the construction process including scheduling, contract administration, equipment, manpower, etc.

Substantial background in process management and a proven record of leading a team from design to construction with an emphasis on building client relationships is preferred.

Industry experience with increasing levels of responsibility

Experience managing people.

Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and foster positive business relationships.

Strong verbal, written, computer, technical communication, and presentation skills.

Computer software proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Project, and ProCore Required.

Computer software proficiency with ProEst, Prolog or equivalent construction industry Estimating Software Applications and Project Management Information System required.

Computer software experience with AutoCAD preferred

Will require some on-call response and travel.
