The City of Fall River Police Department has the following vacancy: Senior Account Clerk (8A AFSCME) Records Room Salary: Range \$1,129.13 - \$1,461.12 bi-weekly Hours: Day Shift JOB DESCRIPTION: Under the general supervision of the Police Chief, Deputy Police Chief, or a Division Commander as delegated by the Mayor to the City Administrator to perform a variety of routine clerical functions, including those of entering data to the data processing system; performs related duties as required. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Work involves providing timely and efficient service to the people of the City for a variety of routine clerical functions in the Police Department; to be responsible for conformance to the City and Commonwealth codes and standards of all work performed under his/her direction and to conform to policies and directives promulgated by the Police Chief; to coordinate the work for which she/he is responsible with the work of other coworkers; this work is subject to periodic review by the supervisor? this work is performed with considerable latitude in independent judgment and under the supervision; and to perform miscellaneous clerical functions as may be assigned to him/her by the Police Chief. Assists in carrying out the following tasks; Daily print out of the permanent/public call logs Daily print out of the permanent/public arrest logs Organization and preparation of court paperwork in morning Exporting of accident reports to www.getcrashreports.com Assist citizens at the window and on the phone Assist officers with reports and copies Sanitization of all reports for un-CORI?d individuals/organizations Mail report requests to insurance reporting bureaus, lawyers, and the general public Prepare and organize all Keeper of the Records requests for reports and miscellaneous Research background checks for Sheriff?s Department, other law enforcement agencies, and Government Center (immigration requests) Enter old arrests into the computer that are not in Department IMC Computer Agency report requests (DCF, Parole, DA, ME, etc) handled in a timely manner Provide Fall River Emergency Medical Service with accident reports as requested Faxing of ID Theft Affidavits to Identity and Financial Crisis Task Force Assist with paperwork that is processed through the fax machine/copier to various departments Preparing accident reports for citizens, Registry of Motor Vehicles, local businesses Recording and Managing of monies that are collected via cash and check through records requests via in person or by mail Preparing all paperwork for Court Liaison Unit Maintenance of permanent reports at end of year and start of the next year Organization and processing of traffic citations Preparing and processing of City ordinance violations and citations MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with peers and supervisors; ability to work cooperatively and harmoniously with other city employees, and most especially, the general public; a pleasant telephone manner, a positive \"can-do\" attitude; ability to observe necessary safety precautions; willingness to work overtime hours as required; ability to perform described duties with some latitude for independent judgment under indirect supervision; ability to understand basic mathematical concepts. Should possess good communications skills, including ability to express self clearly and concisely orally and in writing. Typing speed of 60 wpm. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: A high school diploma or GED equivalent; computer literacy; ability to run work processing equipment; a computer literacy background or ability to be trained in word/data processing; no minimum experience required.
