Summary: The Production Scheduler 1’s primary role is to offer scheduling and forecasting support to the Production Scheduler and Planning Manager. Utilizing data and forecast information from the Planning Manager, in establishing the most efficient and cost effective production schedule possible.

This person will utilize computer systems to assist or complete production scheduling, review finished goods inventory levels, and assist in coordination between Production, Customer Service, Logistics and Purchasing. This person will need to have great organizational and people skills, and a “can do” attitude to be successful in this position. Successful candidate will be a result driven individual with high energy, while demonstrating a sense of urgency and ability in a high performance-manufacturing environment. This person should have the ability to execute all aspects of scheduling independently, with minimal supervision, and have at least 1 or more years of experience as a Production Scheduler at Blount.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Schedule production to meet customer orders, production efficiency and profitability goals utilizing MRP system

  • Coordinate with Purchasing department regarding ingredient availability required to start, support, and complete the manufacturing process in accordance with manufacturing specifications

  • Coordinate with Sales/Logistics Departments to facilitate order fulfillment

  • Responsible for recipe and work order review

  • Maintain production model for Division Seasonality

  • Capacity scheduling to include minimization of demand spikes, as well as meeting Company Philosophy regarding Customer Satisfaction and fulfillment goals.

  • Utilize capacity requirement planning to insure availability of machine capacities and processing abilities to support the production schedule in the most efficient and cost effective manner.

  • Other duties with similar skills, work conditions, and responsibilities as assigned.

    Experience/Education:

  • Bachelors degree

  • 5+ years of manufacturing / production scheduling – food manufacturing.

  • Strong Excel skills, working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

  • Ability to review product demand, and manage into a profitable production plan, that meets customer needs.

  • This person needs to be able to work with all kinds of people and personalities to be successful.
