Taco, Inc. Maintenance Mechanic (2nd Shift) in Fall River, Massachusetts
Performs a variety of duties involved in the repair and preventive maintenance of machines and building system throughout the plant.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Works from Limble Computerized maintenance program and written and verbal instructions. Documents all activities and parts used.
Perform a variety of duties including the repair and maintenance of welding and fabrication equipment, CNC machining equipment, material equipment and general shop tools. Lifts and moves material in difficult work positions using aerial lifts, fork-lifts and a variety of bridge crane systems.
Perform minor electrical repairs and provides assistance to plant electrician, and the maintenance team.
Will work from sketches, specifications, diagrams, and verbal instructions, using a variety tools, tool room equipment and instruments.
Will be responsible for moving and resetting machinery and equipment as needed for department relocation.
Will repair and trouble shoot building systems such as compressed air systems, welding gas systems, crane systems and general HVAC systems.
Responsible for the disassembly and re-assembly of complex machinery to precision tolerances.
Requires interaction with engineers and machine tool makers to get parts repaired or replaced to keep machine downtime to a minimum.
Oils and greases all machines throughout the plant ensuring that the proper type of oil is used. Cleans out machines as necessary for maintenance purposes. Notifies supervisor of machines not being properly cleaned.
Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability and willingness to respond as needed and contribute effectively to a team environment.
Have the ability and willingness to perform moderate physical tasks, such as lifting, carrying, bending, continuous standing, etc.
Follows all safety rules and regulations and keeps work area in a clean and orderly condition.
Performs other related duties as required or directed.
Required Skills
At least 3 years of direct experience in machinery maintenance in a manufacturing environment.
Ability to effectively communicate and function as a team member.
Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Computer knowledgeable.
Experience in the use and repair of welding and fabrication equipment
Moderate physical activity and manual dexterity (ability to lift 50 lbs.)
