Cartamundi Sleeve Machine Technician in East Longmeadow, Massachusetts

The Sleeve Machine Technician will be responsible for setup, operation, troubleshooting, material changes and preventive maintenance of sleeving equipment and packout. Operates various pieces of equipment within the Sleeving operation. Keep daily records as required. Requires daily cleaning of equipment and work area. Move raw materials into and move finished goods out of manufacturing area. Maintains quality of finished goods and may be required to utilize quality equipment for testing and/or inspection.

What you’ll do as a Sleeve Machine Technician :

  • Troubleshooting and resolving mechanical and electrical issues that arise with machine tools and support equipment

  • Lock-Out/Tag-Out, Preventive Maintenance Checklist

  • Assist with training manufacturing associates to do preventive maintenance on applicable machines

  • Setup and optimize machines and programs to run first article

  • Maintain Production, Quality, Safety and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) standards

  • Maintain accurate records, generating required production/safety/quality documents and performing good receipt activities in our ERP System

  • Keep machine and work area clean and organized

  • Support and participate in department's Continuous Improvement initiatives

  • Move raw materials into and move finished goods out of manufacturing area

  • Maintains quality of finished goods and may be required to utilize quality equipment for testing and/or inspection

  • Work effectively in teams across functional groups with strong communication skills and the ability to lead

  • Performs a variety of complicated tasks independently without the need for constant supervision

  • Other duties as required

We’re looking for a Sleeve Machine Technician with:

  • 1-2 year of machine technician/operator through advanced experience in a manufacturing preferred

  • Ability to understand operating manuals, procedures, work instructions and follow operational direction

  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members and with Supervisor/Process Leader

  • A working knowledge of using quality work instructions in the daily work

  • Must be able to obtain/maintain forklift and licenses

  • Experience in an ISO certified manufacturing facility is a plus

  • Ability to change tasks and direction quickly depending on business needs

Physical requirements and working conditions:

Our manufacturing Plant is comprised of enclosed office and manufacturing space. This position requires the ability to:

  • Move throughout the entire facility to attend to various issues

  • Repetitively grasp, pinch, push and pull with arms hands, occasionally simultaneously, with and without mechanical assisted devices

  • Frequently transfer objects and materials weighing up to 25 lbs.

  • Reach above shoulder height to work, bending and stooping occasionally to work at different heights

  • Safely mount, dismount and operate mobile equipment

  • Move from one area to another in the department around equipment, climb stairs, platforms and ladders

  • Perform sedentary work on various computer systems

  • This Sleeve Machine Technician position is located on-site in our East Longmeadow, MA facility
