Eversource Energy IT Systems Engineer (SCADA) in Dorchester, Massachusetts
Job Description Summary:
This position will participate in the development, maintenance, support and enhancement of IT systems and applications in support of our Electric Distribution Operations at Eversource Energy. Possible assignments include some or all of the following:
- Plan, design, develop, test, coordinate, implement, maintain and administer computer based systems and application.
- Analyze business/technical and related issues to formulate and develop or purchase new and/or modified computer programs/systems.
- Create revisions to existing programs, systems and procedures and use appropriate tools to troubleshoot and correct deficiencies.
- Reconcile user requirements with existing and/or projected computer capacity, capabilities and performance.
Technical Knowledge/Skill: Experience in real-time operations systems support in the electric and gas utility industry is desired. Experience with distributed technologies, relational databases and knowledge of infrastructure technology (servers, workstations, IT security, etc.,) is preferred. Experience with SCADA Systems and Data Historian systems, Windows and UNIX/Linux administration, TCP/IP network and basic SQL query skills is a plus. In addition to exceptional analytical skills, the successful candidate must demonstrate strong customer focus, team membership skills and oral/written communications skills. A proven track record of producing quality products to predetermined standards and specifications plus a desire to learn and apply new skills are required.
Education: A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related discipline or the equivalent technical training and work experience.
Experience: A minimum of (5) five years related experience is required.
