Job SummaryThis position will lead and direct all facets of supply chain management including, but not limited to, purchasing, logistics, stock levels, material forecasting, capacity planning and sourcing, master scheduling, and financial costing for materials support to the distribution and manufacturing business for all US Single Use sites. This position will provide leadership and direction on a cross functional basis.
MAJOR JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (List in order of importance)
Directs the activities of all functions involved in the purchasing and planning including expediting and stocking levels (min/max). Manages inventory and establishes controls to ensure the business is operating at the highest level of performance based on key performance metrics and minimized supply chain risk.
Develops strategies, policies, procedures, and overall team to optimize value of the entire function in creating a world class materials management group.
Monitor Supply Chain health, review and analyze Demand and Supply changes and trends.
Ensure Supply Chain tools, systems and processes are harmonized to support all US Single Use Sites.
Manages inbound freight costs
Manages approved supplier lists and records.
Maintains compliance with all regulatory requirements and ethical standards related to procurement.
Leads and coaches others in maintaining excellence on cGMP, quality control and safety.
Develops and continuously improves supplier relationship and programs.
Participates in existing and new product planning processes to assure timely acquisition of materials to support product launches.
Leads negotiation efforts for major supply contracts to reduce the cost of goods
Develops and manages departmental budgets accordingly.
Establishes annual goals and objectives, (including stretch targets) in coordination with company objectives, and manages performance to ensure attainment.
Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS (Education/Training, Experience and Certifications)
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience and a solid understanding of ERP systems in a manufacturing and distribution environment; advanced capability in balancing procurement, inventory management, and customer satisfaction within the ERP system settings
Minimum of 8 years materials management/procurement experience with at least 3 years leadership experience
CSCP or CPIM preferred
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES (Those necessary to perform the job competently)
Good communication skills, both oral and written, are important as this position interacts and prepares reports for various levels of management
Strong organizational skills
Ability to multi-task, prioritize, manage time, problem solve, and work as part of a team are crucial
Strong interpersonal and critical thinking skills
High energy and eagerness to demonstrate personal initiative
ENVIRONMENTAL WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL EFFORT (Under Typical Positions)
Typically works in an office environment with adequate lighting and ventilation and a normal range of temperature and noise level.
Work assignments are diversified. Examples of past precedent are used to resolve work problems. New alternatives may be developed to resolve problems.
A frequent volume of work and deadlines impose strain on routine basis.
Minimal physical effort is required. Work is mostly sedentary but does require walking, standing, bending, reaching, lifting or carrying objects that typically weigh less than 10 lbs.
