AOA Xinetics (AOX), a wholly-owned Northrop Grumman Space Systems, Payload and Ground Systems Division Business Unit is a leading supplier of complex electro-optic and photonic systems and subsystems that control and manipulate light waves for a variety of applications. We are seeking a Quality Inspection Lab Supervisor to support our quality initiatives. This position may be located in either Devens, MA or East Hartford, CT .

Overview

Our team is responsible for various quality inspection responsibilities including receiving supplied material/parts, in-process inspection of product, and final acceptance product. The Quality Inspection Lab Supervisor will also be responsible for reviewing quality inspection processes, work with operations on schedule completions, assist with customer audits, and be the Quality Lead on monitoring Suppliers. This position supports both the Devens and East Hartford sites and the successful candidate will be expected to spend time in both facilities as needed.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Support all operation inspection needs for both the Devens and East Hartford sites, and communicates quality issues as appropriate.

  • Assure technicians are working tasks that align with the schedule.

  • Works with Quality Inspectors on career development and training.

  • Resolves employee and/or resource priorities across Operations and Production Control

  • Coordinate within the Quality team or functions as needed to address obstacles preventing technicians from completing their work

  • Responsible for monitoring Suppliers, reviewing Purchase requisitions, and assuring purchased materials meet requirements by developing the inspection plans.

  • Responsible for implementation of proactive quality initiatives or projects to support program affordability and technical compliance

  • Additional responsibilities may include calibration of tooling, gaging, and other equipment on-site or by coordination with outside suppliers with equipment maintenance.

  • Accountable to meet or exceed the Quality Assurance, and support the Operational, safety, quality, delivery, employee and cost (SQDEC) expectations of external and internal customers across all AOX programs supported by (either Quality Assurance or Quality Engineering).

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED with 6+ years applicable experience as a quality inspection lead, or a Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years’ applicable experience

  • Experience in Aerospace/Defense or Manufacturing environment

  • US Citizenship is a bona fide requirement, as position may require a Top Secret clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Composite Materials manufacturing environment

  • Experience with Quality Management Systems e.g., AS9100

  • Active Top Secret Clearance

Salary Range: $95,000 - $142,600

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
