Bristol Myers Squibb MES Engineer in Devens, Massachusetts
The Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) Engineer will be an integral part of the Digital Plant MES team within Bristol-Myers Squibb at Devens, MA. This site position will play a key role in the design, development, and implementation of the Manufacturing MES/IT systems capabilities. The candidate must have a strong knowledge of biologics manufacturing in an automated environment, with a demonstrated track record of proficiency with MES and a proven ability to configuration & troubleshoot. Installation and configuration to the ISA-S88/S95 standard as well as an understanding of project management and following Project phases: Requirements definition, detailed design generation, software configuration, system integration and Qualification testing. Knowledge of control systems is desirable.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESONSI-BILITIES:
Develop and maintain a MES implementation/ support strategy that integrates process knowledge, equipment design, and quality standards with information technology to reduce downtime, elevate the level of regulatory compliance, and introduce efficiency gains through effective use of available technologies.
Support of manufacturing and reporting systems that support the creation of electronic batch records and facilitate product release.
Responsible for the software and data maintenance of computer systems used for the development, testing, and the production of bulk drug substances.
Work closely within the BMS organizations in the evaluation and implementation of MES application updates and changes.
Support software and configuration required for external systems interfaces such as DeltaV, SAP, LIMS, and Maximo.
Provide “On-call” rotating support for MES systems to assure 24/7 manufacturing operations.
Successful candidate will possess a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering field with at least 3 years of experience working in the pharmaceutical industry, preferably in the biotechnology sector.
A successful candidate will have knowledge and experience with MES technologies. Syncade and DeltaV would be preferable. Database technologies also a plus.
Demonstrated leadership skills and experience working in diverse, multi-disciplined work groups.
Experience and/or substantial understanding of process control principles and common system vendors’ available products.
Skills in S88/S95 batch, historian technology, databases, and reporting systems.
Demonstrated expertise and competence in integrated recipe design in MES systems.
Ability to work in a diverse work environment, manage multiple priorities, and at times, be self-directed.
Excellent written and communication skill are required.
