AOX, a wholly owned Northrop Grumman Space Systems (NGSP), Payload and Ground Systems Division Business Unit, is a leading supplier of complex electro-optic and photonic systems and subsystems that control and manipulate light waves for a variety of applications. We design, develop, manufacture and service systems world-wide for the US Government, industrial and commercial customers, as well as US defense prime and second tier contractors. Markets for these technologies include civilian astronomy and semiconductor capital equipment as well as defense Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance ( ISR) and Directed Energy. We are seeing a Manufacturing Technical to support our manufacturing efforts in Devens, MA.

This position may be filled at either a Level 1 or Level 2.

Overview

Reporting to the Manufacturing Operations Manager, the Manufacturing Technician will p erform a variety of tasks ranging from repetitive to non-repetitive production assembly operations on opto-mechanical, electro-optical and electronic and/or mechanical assemblies.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Work from diagrams and drawings, makes initial layouts, and uses hand and/or power tools

  • Performing continuity checks on work in process and completed assemblies

  • May disassemble, modify, rework, reassemble, and test experimental or prototype assemblies and subassemblies according to specifications provided by a cognizant engineer.

This position is a great fit for someone who enjoys working in a team environment, can perform tasks under a microscope on very small assemblies; has a high level of attention to detail and quality. The chosen candidate must be able to multi-task and flex between multiple assignments.

Basic Qualifications for a level 1:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent

  • Ability to handle delicate optical and mechanical components

  • Ability to use basic hand tools

  • Ability to perform tasks from written directions and drawings

  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and blueprints

  • U.S. citizenship is a bona fide requirement

Basic Qualifications for a level 2:

  • Same as above, but with two years experience working in a manufacturing environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Assembly or electronic experience

  • Basic knowledge of optical and electrical test equipment

Salary Range: $39,900 - $66,500

Salary Range 2: $47,600 - $79,300

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
