Fast Tracker/Supervisor Trainee

Opportunity Summary: As a Fast Tracker - Supervisor Trainee, you will be focused on you development with a goal of learning all aspects of maintenance pertaining to converting or corrugating equipment. Your development will prepare you to be responsible for your maintenance team's safety, quality, and performance throughout the shift. You will identify opportunities within the shift to improve performance and execution, coordinate and manage preventative and repair efforts of the hourly team, and assist in efforts to improve equipment up time and reliability.

You will impact Smurfit WestRock by learning the maintenance side of the corrugated packaging industry. Your development will include learning to:

· Manage daily work order flow, as well as coordinate preventative maintenance and emergency repairs

Become a subject matter expert in our Work Order and Parts Inventory Management system (JDE)

· Assist with development and execution of Capital projects

· Manage performance and downtime of machines through troubleshooting and preventing issues that could cause downtime and resolving issues in timely fashion

· Work to ensure equipment downtime is utilized as efficiently as possible, taking full advantage of windows of opportunity to drive improved reliability

· Lead the accident/incident investigation for any incidents that occur in the department

· Assist in development of preventative and predictive maintenance processes, creating a world-class maintenance department.

Assist in efficiently managing parts order flow and inventory processes to help drive fiscal budget adherence and improvement

· Utilize the Maintenance Department\u2019s Standard Operating Procedures

At times, supervise your hourly team members and ensure necessary safety leadership, training, development, and support

  • Assist maintenance leadership in establishing individual goals and evaluate work performance for future direct reports

  • Develop effective partnerships with plant hourly team members to improve overall plant reliability and production

  • Assist with the review and updating of department training material, specifically working with maintenance technicians to help improve their skillsets and close learning gaps

What you need to succeed:

  • High School diploma or G.E.D., Minimum of Associates preferred.

  • 5-10 years of industrial maintenance experience

  • Proven supervisory track record

  • Demonstrated leadership ability

  • A high regard for safety

  • Strong communication, and interpersonal skills leveraged to motivate stakeholders and achieve alignment across the organization

  • Ability to learn proprietary software programs

  • Ability to multitask

  • Strong critical thinking skills
