Job SummaryUnder direction of the area supervisor, the Team Lead - Cleanroom Assembly will provide guidance and support to their team to build a wide-range of Single-Use assemblies that meet or exceed customer requirements. Uses, maintains, and sets up a variety of manufacturing and measuring equipment such as tube cutters, tape measures, hand tools, and heat sealers. Reviews engineering drawings, products work instructions, standard operating processes to reflect the efficient building of product and maintain associated data throughout the process. Communicates issues with meeting known assembly times. Ensures completion of products according to the priority of the weekly build schedule to meet on-time delivery goals and customer satisfaction. Maintains a high standard of quality to meet goals for internal first pass yield and external customer returns. The Team – Lead will be proactive and communicate any issues to leadership that would prevent the team from achieving their goals. Maintains the cleanroom environment by training and enforcing all standard operating processes and compliance. Assesses technician training needs, tooling needs, and potential process changes. Ensures the use of the appropriate personal protective equipment and reports near misses and first aid events.

MAJOR JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (List in order of importance)

  • Act as a contact point between Management and Technicians.

  • Wear and enforce compliance of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE’s) and report all near miss and first aid events.

  • Coordinate the production effort with the cleanroom technicians.

  • Trains cleanroom technicians on new production protocols.

  • Function as the subject matter expert on assembly related issues or questions.

  • Ability to understand product offerings and advise on recommended assembly process.

  • Works safely within the parameters of and complies with company policies; helps ensure Technicians are following all work procedures.

  • Responsible for building various Single-Use assemblies per work instructions and prints, cleaning and packaging.

  • Responsible for proper cleanroom preparation activities.

  • Operate and maintain production equipment as per SOPs.

  • Participate in continuous improvement processes.

  • Comply with ISO and cGMP regulations.

  • Identify process deviation and take immediate action to mitigate event.

  • Daily organization (6S) and cleanliness of work area to comply with regulatory requirements.

  • Participate in inventory cycle count programs and accurate record results.

  • Participate and work within ISO 9001-2015 quality standards guidelines in all manufacturing areas in accordance with company quality goals.

  • Maintain company product quality standards in accordance with company quality goals.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS (Education/Training, Experience and Certifications)

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Requires 4 years of experience in a production cleanroom environment and/or demonstrated proficiency in cleanroom assembly as evidence through annual reviews

  • Possesses and demonstrates awareness of emotional intelligence of self and others to be capable directing others

  • Experience interpreting engineering drawings

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associates degree in Engineering or Science

  • Experience using concepts of Lean manufacturing

  • Leadership experience

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES (Those necessary to perform the job competently)

  • Strong communication and leadership skills

  • Comfortable reading and interpreting product schematics

  • Ability to work in a team environment

  • Ability to lead a team and act as a resource for more junior staff

  • Perform duties with the highest regard for safety and quality

  • Ability to be trained on and adhere to all cleanroom protocols

  • Ability to understand and follow site protocols, policies and procedures

  • Must be flexible, forward- thinking, motivated, and can work independently as needed

  • Must be able to lift 50lbs minimum

  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office with proficiency in Word and Excel

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines

  • Problem-solving skills

Typically works in a production/clean room environment with adequate lighting and ventilation and a normal range of temperature and noise level.

The associate is required to stand and walk for the majority of the working day. The physical requirements of the job are for associates to talk, hear, bend/stoop, squat, crawl, climb height, reach above shoulder height, crouch, kneel, balance, and push/pull. Furthermore, the job requires associates to lift/carry/push or pull up to 50 pounds with or without assistance. Associates use both hands for repetitive actions such as grasping and manipulating as well as both feet for repetitive movement operating foots controls. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
