Jabil Assistant Production Supervisor B Shift in Devens, Massachusetts

Job Summary: Responsible for overseeing production processes, establishing production priorities, and ensuring effective operations while considering cost factors.

Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, rotating shift

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with management personnel to establish production and quality control standards. Assist in gathering data on product types, quantities, specifications, and delivery dates to minimize excessive material on the production floor.

  • Coordinate production activities with procurement, maintenance, and quality control to optimize production and human resource utilization.

  • Review production, quality control, maintenance, and operational reports with production supervisors to identify causes of nonconformity and production problems.

  • Assist in minimizing scrap and materials request order (MRO) usage. Ensure workstations have clean operating areas and implement procedures to eliminate operating problems and improve metrics.

  • Monitor production metrics and compile monthly reports for continuous improvement in reducing line and plant defects per million (DPM).

  • Ensure line employees understand and adhere to policies and procedures. Manage stocking and availability of operational supplies and equipment.

  • Assist in monitoring the Statistical Process Control (SPC) system to identify and address problems immediately. Compile, store, and retrieve production data.

  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Job Qualifications

Knowledge Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of global and regional logistics operations and industry.

  • Proficiency in determining logistics requirements to align with the company’s business goals and objectives, with the ability to devise and implement strategies to achieve targets.

  • Strong financial and analytical skills for managing business analytics to determine optimum company footprint.

  • Knowledge of international direct and indirect taxes and global customs regimes.

  • Demonstrated success in change management and implementing continuous productivity and cost reduction programs.

  • Effective communication skills.

  • Proficiency in personal computers, Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint), and email.

Education & Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred.

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience, or a combination of education, experience, and/or training.
