The Role

The Research Associate I will work as part of the Development Materials Management Core (DMMC), which serves as a centralized resource for the Product Development organization. The DMMC manages the inventory of antibody materials integral to antibody validation pipeline and enables reduced product development cycle times through the efficient, effective, and timely delivery of materials between the Antibody Discovery teams, other groups in Product Development, and Production teams. The DMMC also routinely validates cell lines and antibodies. These team members are expected to continuously evaluate leading edge technologies and techniques, and to sponsor their implementation in their work.

You'll have the opportunity to....

  • Routinely validate and test the quality of cell lines through mycoplasma testing and DNA extraction

  • Formulate antibodies for testing and release to Production teams

  • Operate Octet to perform IgG quantitation and other antibody validation assays

  • Adopt techniques and technological opportunities that will improve quality, efficiency, or scalability of DMMC processes

  • Accurately track and properly store antibody samples and other materials used to validate antibodies

  • Enable western and applications testing by delivering antibodies and lysates according to established service level agreements

  • Order commercial antibodies as needed

  • Conduct physical inventories and maintain accurate records

  • Maintain usability of samples and other materials on stock by purging pipeline materials as needed

  • Prepare, package, and distribute antibody materials (as cell preps and/or frozen vials of cells) for transfer to other internal CST teams or external collaborators or customers.

  • Communicate with the Antibody Discovery groups, and groups within PD, to understand their material management needs to ensure clarity and alignment

  • Meet all established service level agreements

  • Maintain accurate and complete electronic records in CST’s product development systems as appropriate

  • May work with and be exposed to hazardous chemicals and materials, Universal Precaution level pathogens, biohazardous human/animal tissue, cells, and fluids, and manual pipetting.

Who you are and what you bring to the team....

  • Bachelor’s degree in a biological science (e.g. molecular biology, cell biology, biochemistry or biotechnology)

  • Computer proficiency including working knowledge of MS Office and Google suites (or related) applications.

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Attention to detail

  • Team-oriented mindset

  • Proven ability to multi-task effectively

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong communication skills (both oral and written)
