Emerson Hospital Insurance Authorization Coordinator in Concord, Massachusetts

Job Summary

  • Reporting to the Clinical Manager, the insurance authorization coordinator is responsible for the medical insurance verification and authorization approvals of Home Care Dept. patients. This position is responsible for assisting the Intake Nurse with duties of obtaining home care referrals and for . Is responsible for notifying physician offices and Clinical Staff as to any needed paperwork, and for notifying or investigating any problems or denials with appropriate patients. Is also responsible to maintain/update list of insurance rules. the proper registration process in the Home Care medical record system.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

  • Experience

  • Minimum 1 years Home Care office function experience. Experience in Hospital or Home Care Registration preferred.

  • Licensure and/or Certification

  • Skills

  • Excellent organizational and prioritizing skills.

  • Knowledge of third party payors.

  • Knowledge of Medicare billing practices and regulations.

  • Insurance verifications experience.

  • Knowledge of Insurance billing practices.

    • Computer literacy in Microsoft Word and Excel. Allscripts Home Care experience preferred.
  • Must have the ability to read, write, and communicate in English.

  • Ability to maintain confidential information.
