Ameresco has a new opportunity for a Lead Plant Operator to join our Team at a Landfill gas to energy plant, located in Chicopee, MA. Ameresco is looking for a highly motivated individual to operate and maintain the plant and all associated equipment. The Plant and equipment include four Jenbacher series 6 reciprocating engines, all associate equipment to support engine operations including regenerative type gas cleaning equipment.
The individual would be required to work 8-hour shift with on call responsibilities. Also required is accurate and accountable performance of all necessary duties to ensure safe and complaint operations.
Maintain daily operation of a landfill gas to energy facility;
Perform assigned tasks required to maintain compliance with environmental permits;
Coordinate and participate with subcontractors and equipment service work;
Ensure safe and reliable facility operations;
Perform frequent rounds of plant and report any abnormalities;
Log all activities that transpire within the days shift;
Prepare and maintain daily reports;
Work independently and apply sound judgment and critical thinking skills;
Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with company employees as well as any and all vendors;
Adhere to an assigned work schedule including the availability to be on-call as assigned by supervisor;
Learn and operate various control systems for the plant;
Follow Standard Operating Procedures for plant start-up and shut down;
Stay within operating parameters set by Manager and notify management of any production problems;
Maintain good housekeeping practices; and
Perform other duties as required.
2 years equipment experience using mechanical, electrical, instrument or control system skills.
High School Diploma or GED.
Valid US drivers license.
Knowledge of the fundamentals of electricity, both AC and DC, and Arc Flash Hazards.
Basic computer skills including e-mail and data entry using Microsoft Outlook, Word, & Excel.Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.Strong verbal, written, computer communication and organization skills.May be required to pass substance testing and/or security clearance investigation.
