Intern Position Title: Intern Department: DPW - Water Pollution Control Employment Status: Non-Exempt; Full-Time, Seasonal Salary: Non-Union, Chapter 7 Ordinance - \$15.00 per hour. Licenses/Certifications: Massachusetts Driver\'s License SUMMARY The City of Chicopee\'s Department of Public Works / Water Pollution Division is hiring an Intern for May - August 2024 to learn and perform laboratory procedures in the analysis of various unit processes in a water pollution control facility including field work to perform outfall sampling. ESSENTIAL DUTIES INCLUDE Perform laboratory procedures Analysis of various unit processes within the water pollution control facility May include field work to perform outfall sampling Responsible for maintaining and using laboratory equipment Responsible for safe operation of city vehicles in adherence with law and city policies. QUALIFICATIONS To be minimally qualified for this position, one must meet the following criteria: High School Diploma or Equivalent Valid Massachusetts Driver\'s License Should be enrolled in a science-related college program with a desire to enter the environmental field, preference given to Chicopee residents SCHEDULE & COMPENSATION & BENEFITS The City of Chicopee provides its employees (contingent upon employment status) with a robust benefits package which includes Medical, Dental, Vision, Sick-Time, Life Insurance, Holiday Pay, Personal Time, Vacation Time, Retirement Saving Plans, a Pension Plan, Employee Discounts, and more.
