Job Description
HVAC Mechanic (Oil Burner Technician), Monday-Friday, 6am-2:30pm
Under the direct supervision of the Shop Supervisor, or other designated personnel, perform skilled work in the maintenance, repair, and installation of oil/gas burners, heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems, and their controls.
Perform maintenance, repairs, preventative maintenance using a computerized maintenance work order system. Provide written(electronic) records of work completed on a daily basis. Communicate with Supervisors personally or through electronic forms of communication (email, phone use etc.)
Required
·Minimum of three to five year's recent full-time experience as an HVAC Mechanic working for a licensed contractor, or maintenance organization
Oil Burner Technician's license
High school diploma
Must be able to read and understand plans, blueprints, and schematics related to HVAC and refrigeration systems.
Demonstrated ability to work independently
Ability to work from written or verbal instructions
Skills in the use of equipment and tools used in the trade
Must hold and maintain a valid motor vehicle operator's license
Must be able to communicate orally, read, comprehend, write, reason and analyze and perform calculations
Must be able to bend, sit, squat, stand, crawl, walk, climb, push/pull, kneel, handle objects (manual dexterity), reach above shoulder level, and use fine finger movements
Must be able to lift over 50 pounds
The employee will be subject to the following Environmental Conditions on the job:
o Exposure to excessive noise
o Will be around moving machinery
o Exposure to marked changes in temperature and/or humidity
o Exposure to dust, fumes, gasses
o Will drive motorized equipment
o Will work in confined quarters
Preferred
Sheet Metal License
Experience with and an understanding of Direct Digital Controls (DDC), preferably Johnson Controls and/or Schneider energy management systems.
Massachusetts Journeyman Refrigeration Mechanic
EPA Universal Recovery License
Requirements
*Minimum of five year's recent full-time experience as a Massachusetts Journeyman HVAC Mechanic working for a licensed contractor, or maintenance organization
*High school diploma
*Massachusetts Journeyman Refrigeration Mechanic's, and Oil Burner Mechanic's license
*Proficient knowledge and demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and repair HVAC and Refrigeration systems and controls.
*Must be able to read and understand plans, blueprints, and schematics related to HVAC and refrigeration systems.
*Demonstrated ability to work independently
*Ability to work from written or verbal instructions
*D.D.C controls troubleshooting and repair skills required
*Skills in the use of equipment and tools used in the trade
*Must hold and maintain a valid motor vehicle operator's license.
Preferred:
*Johnson Controls Metasys experience considered a plus
