Kayem Foods, Inc. Warehouse Receiver - 2nd shift in Chelsea, Massachusetts

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare storage areas prior to beginning receiving activities. Rotate stock as needed

  • Coordinate with shipping office clerk to assign dock doors as needed

  • Check the purchase order for any special instructions and compare with vendors paperwork for any differences

  • Examine each pallet / bin of meat for visible damage, defects or any signs of tampering

  • Verify acceptable expiration date and temperature by checking each bin/pallet of meat

  • Weigh product as needed to verify weights listed by vendor on Bill of Lading / invoice

  • Tag pallets / bins with proper receiving labels and move product to designated storage area

  • Fill out necessary Kayem and vendor paperwork and receive the product into the Kayem computer system

  • Utilize AX daily and assist with Inventory control including month end responsibilities

  • Needs to know or learn the picking and high lift jobs in the warehouse

  • Must maintain and comply with all HACCP, OSHA, USDA, SSOP and GMP requirements

  • Must maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe work area and enforce safe work practices

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma / GED and three months of related experience or training

  • Must be able to read, write and communicate in English

  • Must have basic math skills to be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide

  • Must have the ability to act on instructions given both verbally and written

  • Must have license to operate pallet jack and be able to obtain license for forklift and high lift

  • Basic computer skills and the ability to learn purchase order receiving necessary

  • Ability to regularly lift 50 pound and occasionally up to 75 pounds

  • Ability to work in 35-to-40-degree temperatures for the entire shift
