Job Summary Design and integrate software and hardware to achieve automated DC and RF test solutions Help develop and debug complex applications using C#/VB.NET and Python Prepares test and diagnostic programs, designs test fixtures and equipment, and completes specifications and procedures for new products Work with other engineering teams to develop automated RF test hardware and software platforms utilizing the latest industry technologies and capabilities Mentor engineers and technicians on platform use, RF test methodologies, and custom tool usage Create formal documentation of platform hardware, software, and system architecture RF test system architecture design using Spectrum Analyzers, Signal Generators, Network Analyzers, Power Meters, and PXI based RF/Digital/Analog equipment Evaluate and research new test equipment as well as evolving wireless standards and test methodologies Hardware development such as custom board layout or fixturing for test systems Investigate and resolve application issues, bottlenecks, and inefficiencies Provide input on capital and non-capital hardware/software needed for lab Lead and/or participate in cross-functional teams to support engineering test projects Create test plans, procedures, and reports Support design verification testing Job Requirements A minimum of a Bachelors Degree in an Engineering discipline, Bachelors or Masters Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering preferred with 8+ years of industry experience Minimum of 5 years of experience in RF design, testing, or engineering Proficient with test equipment including PXI systems, RF sources, pulse generators, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, oscilloscopes, vector network analyzers, noise figure analyzers, power meters, power supplies, and digital multi-meters Software development experience in C#.NET, VB.NET, Python, and/or Matlab In depth knowledge of Microsoft Office suite Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal skills Highly Desired Skills Proficient in automated test including design, development, and maintenance of test and characerization systems Experience working on Agile/Scrum software development teams Knowledge of National Instruments software stack/API (e.g. NI VISA, NI RFmx, etc.) Knowledgeable in S-parameters, noise figure, power, pulsed power, high power RF, TOI, harmonics, ACP, Video Bandwidth (VBW), digital pre-distortion (DPD), modulation testing (AM/AM, AM/PM, PAM, etc), and different modulation schemes (WiFi, QAM, etc) Knowledgeable in TCP/IP, GPIB, IEEE 488.2, I2C, MIPI, SPI, or JTAG communications We are open to this person sitting in our Greensboro, NC or Chelmsford, MA offices.
