AECOM is actively seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior I&C Engineer for its Chelmsford, MA Water Design Center.
AECOM’s Design Center located in Chelmsford, MA is nationally recognized as center of excellence that focuses on the design of large, complex, multi-discipline, high-profile water and wastewater treatment and pumping facilities for both traditional and design-build projects throughout the U.S. The Design Center is comprised of approximately 70 staff and includes a full complement of disciplines including:
Building Mechanical (i.e., HVAC, Plumbing & Fire Protection)
Instrumentation & Controls (I&C)

This Senior I&C engineer position will involve a variety of new and renovations to existing water treatment facilities, water booster pump stations, and wastewater pumping and treatment facilities.
This position will be heavily focused on the detailed technical I&C design associated with these facilities including:
Pumps, piping, valves, etc.
Headworks, screening, grit removal systems
Aeration, filtration, separation, dewatering and clarification systems
Odor control systems
Chemical feed systems
Sludge and residual handling systems
Work closely with project managers and design managers.
Develop process flow diagrams and assist with the development of process & instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) in coordination with water/wastewater process engineers.
Design control system architecture using a variety of technologies including Ethernet, fiber optic networks, radio, and VPN. Develop drawings to convey the design.
Generate contract specifications including datasheets for process instrumentation and control systems hardware.
Write detailed control narrative for full plant operation.
Develop technical specifications, plans, elevations, sections, and details.
Verify compliance with applicable codes and engineering standards/practices.
Coordinate with other in-house engineering disciplines as needed.

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical or Chemical preferred) or equivalent work experience.
Six (6) plus years of related work experience
Proficient with AutoCAD.
Experience with the technical I&C design associated with these facilities including Pumps, piping, valves, etc.
Experience in a Senior I&C engineering role involving a variety of new and renovations to existing water treatment facilities, water booster pump stations, and wastewater pumping and treatment facilities.
Experience with developing process flow diagrams and/or assisting with the development of process & instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) in coordination with water/wastewater process engineers.
