Kelly Services QC Scientist in Chelmsford, Massachusetts

Kelly is hiring for a QC Scientist position with one of our clients in Chelmsford MA.

  • Full time - W2

  • 12-month contract (May be extended or converted)

  • Shift 7-3:30pm

  • $29-$35/hr. based on experience

Job Description:

The Quality Control Scientist I position is a specialized member of the Quality team. In this role you will perform work required to ensure that product quality is maintained at standards set forth. Key responsibilities include completing incoming, in-process, and final release testing of various products manufactured or received. A suitable candidate must have foundational chemistry knowledge, as well as practice basic laboratory safety and laboratory hygiene.

  • Test samples in accordance with established procedures, using all instrumentation required in the procedures, including pH meters, turbidity meters, titrators, spectrophotometer, centrifuge, electrodes, etc.

  • Disposition products (release, rework, scrap) to production based on test results.

  • Neatly and legibly record data and test results in batch records

  • Perform troubleshooting for OOS (out of specification) results, and other lab investigations as needed

  • Identify potential issues and proactively escalate to leadership in a timely manner for resolution

  • Maintain a clean work environment, ensuring to tidy equipment and store them appropriately at the end of each shift

  • Perform tasks related to other Quality function responsibilities such as customer complaint investigations, QC inventory maintenance, and continuous improvement efforts

  • Review manufacturing batch records for accuracy, completeness, and Good Documentation Practices (GDP)

  • Always comply with Good Lab Practices (GLP) and Good Documentation Practices (GDP)

    Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • High school diploma (or equivalent)

  • Foundational chemistry background and 2+ years experience working in a lab required

  • Prior lab safety and hygiene training required

  • Proficient knowledge of Good Documentation Practices (GDP) and Good Lab Practices (GLP) preferred

  • Experience with SAP preferred

Preferred Skills:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word

  • Effective written and oral communication skills in English

  • High attention to detail, highly organized, and strong documentation skills

  • Ability to work in a seated or standing position for an eight hour shift
