AECOM Project Manager Environmental Permitting - Power Sector in Chelmsford, Massachusetts

Job Summary

AECOM is seeking an Environmental Permitting Project Manager for our Power Sector/IAP Practice to be based in one of our offices located in the MA, CT or RI.

This is an opportunity to join a dynamic team well positioned in terrestrial and offshore settings relating to studies and the environmental permitting of transmission lines, substations, and cables including land-based connections to offshore wind energy areas.

In general the responsibilities for this position include, but may not be limited to, the following:

  • Responsible for the overall management administration to project and assists in establishing project specific objectives and policies.

  • Provides management and guidance to subordinate managers, enforces company and project policies, and a primary liaison between AECOM and client interface.

  • Oversees and ensures all facets of the project are constructed in accordance with design, budget and schedule through subordinate managers and supervisors.

  • Responsible for administering the project from budgeting/schedule stage through procurement and contract closeout. Position has significant profit/loss responsibility for assigned project.

We provide advisory and technical services to help clients cleanup and close contaminated sites and surplus operational facilities and restore them for reuse, plan and permit new facilities, address critical climate change issues, restore habitats and water quality, protect natural and cultural resources, maintain compliance, and cost effectively manage residuals and wastes.

Minimum Requirements

  • BS in Environmental Science, Biology, Wetland Science, Geology or related discipline

  • 8+ years or professional experience in IAP Studies (Wetlands, Waterways, Terrestrial) and permitting of electrical transmission and distribution projects in New England.

  • Experience must include previous project management of teams, and prior technical and regulatory experience in the Power Sector on linear projects required.

  • Must have working knowledge in the MAWPA, CTDEEP, USACE S. 404/S10, MEPA, ESA and related programs required.

  • Sponsorship is not available for this position

  • Some periodic travel is required therefore a pre-employment motor vehicle record check will be performed

Preferred Qualifications

  • 10 - 15+ years or professional experience in IAP Studies (Wetlands, Waterways, Terrestrial) and permitting of electrical transmission and distribution projects in New England strong project management background is preferred

  • Leadership skills, business development and close coordination with power sector clients desired.
