Job Summary

AECOM’s Water Business Line is seeking a dynamic, talented Project Director for immediate employment to be based out of our Chelmsford, MA office. The appropriate qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an established career serving as a client-facing project director on federal, regional, state, and municipal water, wastewater and water resources projects. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Directs and manages the entire project from planning through design and construction.

  • Overall responsibility of the project including but not limited to financial performance, schedule, staffing, execution, and contract closeout.

  • Provides guidance to subordinate managers, enforces company and project policies, and is the primary liaison between AECOM and the client.

  • Identifies, pre-positions, and leads business development pursuits for new and existing clients

Minimum Requirements

  • BS in Civil or Environmental Engineering with 8+ years of related experience in water/wastewater/water resources consulting and engineering management

  • Registered Professional Engineer

  • Demonstrated knowledge of water and wastewater treatment, pumping stations, collection and distribution systems and client/consultant relations experience

  • Ability to travel frequently within AECOM's East Region

Preferred Qualifications

  • 15+ years of related experience in water/wastewater/water resources consulting and engineering management

  • Registered Professional Engineer licensed in Massachusetts or Connecticut or capable of obtaining the required license within 9 months of employment.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Participation in water community activities including Water Environment Federation and American Water Works Association

  • Proven ability of leading business development activities, pursuing new clients/projects, and managing project deliveries

  • Proven leader with an interest in developing and mentoring team members and demonstrated ability to successfully work in diverse teams
