Role Purpose: To instrument and apply various strain gages by manually cleaning parts, sandblasting, scribing, and applying strain gages using hand tools, a microscope, and applying various gages using adhesives on customer parts at a customer facility.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
• Able to understand and read engineering drawings, various blueprints, and work instructions.
• Prepare parts for gaging using various surface prep methods like sandblasting and manual sanding.
• Apply layout and burnish lines by taking measurements using height gages and using scribe tools.
• Applying strain gages to prepped surfaces using various epoxies and clamping methods.
• Perform testing of gage/wiring installation using visual inspection methods and electrical equipment such as a power supply and multimeter.
• Ability to tack weld shim stock metals to parts per engineering drawings.
• Interacting with both customers and HITEC Engineers to understand scope of installations.
• Up to 50% travel to customer sites.
Other Significant Role Requirements:
• Understanding of how to resolve issues independently.
• Able to work independently based on customer supplied information and varying types of parts.
• Needs to have a flexible work schedule, to insure OTD of our products.
• Able to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs
Critical Competencies:
• Ability to use small hand tools while using a microscope.
• Experience in the electromechanical field is a plus.
• Initiative – strives to see projects to completion and acts with a sense of purpose.
Education and/or Experience:
• High School diploma or GED
• Minimum of 2+ year of related experience
• Solid experience with Word and Excel required.
• SyteLine and/or ERP system experience preferred.
