Technical Application Specialist

Canton, MA area (RELOCATION ASSISTANCE AVAILABLE)

Kelly Science & Clinical is looking for a experienced food/meat scientist with strong sausage industry knowledge/expertise. This is a full time role located in the Canton, MA market. There will be some availability for remote work but the majority will be onsite and at customer trials. Monday – Friday day shift.

Primary Function

The Technical Application Specialist has the responsibility first and foremost of ensuring that our Customers and their business are being taken care of. Tasks that will routinely be performed include Demonstration, New Product Support, Customer Training, and Sales Support. It requires an individual who is flexible and capable of dealing with sudden changes i.e. priorities, clients schedule.

Requirements

Certificate, degree or four-year College education in Meat Science / Sausage making.

Masters in Food Science or Meat Science (preferred)

Experience in the Meat & Sausage Making Industry equating to a minimum of 3 years working experience

Responsibilities

Assist in the determination of the correct machine applications to automate our customers manufacturing lines.

Demonstrate equipment to the customers satisfaction. Including set up and breakdown/cleaning of equipment.

Educate the customer in meat and meat alternative/plant based making techniques.

Educate fellow employees in meat and meat alternative/plant based making techniques.

Advise and coordinate all observations regarding their equipment and usage in the US marketplace.

Become the Product Line “go to” expert

Identify other applications for the equipment within the US marketplace. Example; Fish Industry, Ice cream, other…

Assist and coordinate other projects where your background and expertise lends itself.

A typical day in this role would include weighing batches and spice blends for the daily production, creating meat or plant based emulsions, operating a coextrusion line, cooking/chilling/packaging the final product and running evaluations and cleanup.
