Job Overview:

APTIM is currently seeking an entry-level Environmental Engineer in our Canton, MA office to support Task Orders under our various Federal contracts. The successful candidate will possess a desire to participate in all phases of environmental characterization, including those sites impacted by emerging contaminants, from initial investigation through site remediation. Strong interpersonal skills are a must, including the ability to communicate clearly and confidently, both written and verbally, to all project team members including client representatives and colleagues alike.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

  • Under the supervision of an experienced team member, apply engineering skills and knowledge to complete assigned tasks.

  • Collaborate with current engineering staff in the interpretation of engineering data, conduct engineering analyses, and perform calculations and modeling utilizing appropriate software packages.

  • Participate in field tasks including but not limited to collection of environmental samples from various media (e.g., groundwater, surface water, soil, sediment, and vapor) and implementation of in-situ and ex-situ remedial actions.

  • Will thoroughly and accurately summarize field data and present results to senior team members.

  • Ensure conformance to applicable engineering codes and standards as well as company policies and procedures.

  • Monitor applicable regulatory requirements and stay abreast of regulatory trends.

Basic Qualifications:

  • BS or MS degree in Environmental Engineering or related field.

  • 0-2 years' experience.

  • Passed the Fundamentals of Engineering exam, or ability to complete in a timely manner; obtain Professional Engineer License once years-of-service eligible.

  • Possess proficiency in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD and other engineering software programs.

  • Ability to complete 40-Hour OSHA HAZWOPER training and wear proper PPE for work on hazardous waste sites; lifting and physical work will be required.

  • Must be able to work in the field in all types of field conditions/weather.

  • Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

  • Willingness to work occasional overtime, including weekends, to meet project deadlines.

  • Ability to travel to project locations that would require overnight stays.

  • Possess a "Safety First" work ethic.
