Microsoft Corporation WW Field Engagement Lead in Cambridge, Massachusetts

The Customer Success Unit (CSU) team at Microsoft plays a key role in helping customers achieve their data-driven digital transformation through successful adoption of Microsoft Cloud solutions and Services. The team will focus on Accelerating deployment, Improving retention, and expanding usage of Azure Data & AI services with the objective of reducing implementation risk, optimizing deployments, and maximizing the business value for customers from their investments.

We are looking for a high-energy leader to drive the strategy and execution for effective implementation of the Data & AI CSU priorities at scale. As the WW Data & AI Customer Success Leader for Field Engagement strategy, you will lead a team responsible for developing the strategy and driving the field execution to scale the impact of CSU execution through partners and also drive consumption growth in the Small & Medium Corporate segments. Your team will also be responsible for managing a Top customer program focused on accelerating deployments of workloads committed to Azure and landing of compete strategy for the CSU field. You will represent the strategies and the execution insights to executive stakeholders as part of regular business reviews and help shape the overall success of the Data & AI business in the company.

Responsibilities

Manage the team driving the strategy and execution for scaling the impact of CSU through partners

  • Drive consumption motions and solution architect execution through partners in collaboration with the field, GPS, and SMC teams

  • Provide thought leadership in innovating for optimal partner engagement and effective measurement of impact

  • Enable and accelerate the consumption growth driven through partners across SMC and Enterprise segments

Develop and Land the WW strategy for driving consumption growth in Small & Medium Corporate (SMC) segments

  • Collaborate with the WW SMC leaders for landing the key Data & AI CSU priorities and driving execution follow-up with the field, with partners, and Digital resources

  • Drive the landing of the consumption motions designed to accelerate deployment, improve retention, and expand usage in SMC accounts that have already committed to Azure

  • Gather feedback on the plays and content from the field and customers/partners to feed into ongoing evolution of the collateral

Own the Top customer engagement strategy and the Direct Customer Success Initiatives for the WW Data & AI CSU business

  • Gather insights and patterns from the customer engagements of LT members and enable reuse across other accounts and Areas

  • Design, develop, and deploy the WW initiatives for enabling effective top customer pursuit by the field with enhanced WW support

  • Drive effective top customer engagement to accelerate consumption growth in these accounts through programmatic efforts

  • Measure impact of Top customer programs and support with data-driven insights and analytics

Own the compete strategy and effective use of market intelligence information to inform WW strategy and field execution

  • Drive alignment of the compete collateral with the D&AI CSU strategy and execution priorities – consumption ownership, pillar-level specialization, scale with partners, and connected customer experience

  • Interface with WW M&O Compete team to ensure the right compete content and accessibility for the CSU field

  • Collaborate with the Time Zone leaders to land the compete and market intelligence info with each Area and drive positive impact on their win-rate and readiness on differentiated value proposition and overall compete strategies for each workload

Develop senior leaders through excellence in People management and executive leadership

  • Live the management values of Model-Coach-Care in developing talent and building a high performance team

  • Maintain a productive and healthy Workgroup Health environment with an engaged employee base

  • Provide role clarity and goal clarity for all team members to ensure alignment and effective execution of the WW Data & AI CSU priorities

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field AND 8+ years experience in technology solutions, practice development, architecture, consulting, and/or cloud/infrastructure technologies

  • OR Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field AND 6+ years experience in technology solutions, practice development, architecture, consulting, and/or cloud/infrastructure technologies

  • OR equivalent experience.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field AND 15+ years experience in technology solutions, practice development, architecture, consulting, and/or cloud/infrastructure technologies

  • OR Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field AND 12+ years experience in technology solutions, practice development, architecture, consulting, and/or cloud/infrastructure technologies

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 8+ years technical sales experience.

  • 8+ years project management experience.

  • 5+ years people management experience, including managing consultant practice managers, technical sales managers, and/or technical architect managers.

Subject matter expertise

  • Customer experience in the Data Platform solutions . Experience engaging directly with enterprise customers or driving business results in Small & Medium customer segments through Digital and partner assets. required

  • Cloud Depth and Breadth . Knowledge and experience on conceptual or solutions architecture of cloud-based data workloads preferably across Azure Data Services scenarios required .

  • Program management. Experience in executing and/or leading program management functions and field enablement and landing functions required.

  • Business Results accountability. Drive for results required . Experience in roles that had primary accountability for business results including revenue targets and KPI execution preferred

Leader

  • People leadership . Experience leading managers of managers ( preferred ). Experience building and leading high-performance teams including direct people management responsibilities ( required ).

  • Excellent Communicator. Strong people, negotiation, organizational, presentation, deep technical product demo, writing, and verbal communication skills required .

  • Market Maker . Strong leadership to influence key technical decision makers, influencers, business decision makers and peers required .

  • Performer. Highly driven passionate person who consistently exceeds goals and expectations required.

  • Growth Mindset. Experience and passion for learning (technical and soft skills); implementing practices from others; trying, failing and learning from that; sharing practices and knowledge for others’ benefit required.

Consummate Professional

  • Experience . 10+ years of related experience in technical pre-sales and/or technical consulting roles preferred .

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred .

  • Certification in domain-specific technologies (Data Engineer, Azure Data Services platform certification) desired .
