In this role, you be a critical member of our Philips Research North America organization, working within multidisciplinary teams, and responsible for leading the end-to-end management of our diverse and active portfolio of clinical research studies with leading clinical and academic institutions across North America. In addition, you will be a member of a larger global organization and community across Philips, through which you have an opportunity to learn and contribute to our best practices around the world.

You are responsible for

  • Plan and design pre-clinical and clinical studies to support data needs for AI development and regulatory clearance of medical devices

  • Curate and maintain ultrasound data for development of machine learning algorithms

  • Perform annotation of medical image data for ground truth assessment of pathologies and features

  • Drive adoption of compliant regulatory, privacy, laboratory and clinical data management and documentation practices including data, laboratory or clinical evaluations and/or testing of prototypes and products.

  • Ensure internal auditing to measure adherence to good clinical practice (GCP)/good laboratory practice (GLP) standards, customer satisfaction management practices (GCDMP), privacy practices (HIPAA, GDPR), as well as any applicable regulatory and advanced development guidelines.

  • Deliver operational services and support for clinical and preclinical studies which involve electronic submissions and regulatory documentation

  • Actively interface with various internal and external stakeholders including Clinical Affairs Management, Privacy and functional teams, internal customers, Regulatory, Legal, CRO/vendor staff, and laboratory/clinical research staff.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • MS in a scientific domain.

  • 5+ years of experience conducting clinical or laboratory research

  • Experience with Diagnostic Imaging (Ultrasound preferred)

  • Experience working with technical teams focused on medical device development

  • Demonstrated expertise in GLP/GCP, IRB/IACUC submissions, and FDA regulatory requirements for the conduct of research

  • Must be able to communicate and coordinate effectively across diverse, global, cross-functional teams and external partners

  • Prior experience utilizing Electronic Data Capture platform or databases (preferred).

  • Knowledge of ISO 14155 and ISO 14971 standards and requirements (preferred).

  • Experience with project management (e.g. SAFe, PMP) (Preferred).
