Charles River Analytics is looking for a Technical/Science Editor to join our Technical Writing Team. We need your help finding every grammatical, spelling, and punctuation errors that exists in a variety of documents, from marketing blurbs to long, technical proposals, so all of our deliverables meet the highest standards for quality and consistency. As part of this role, you will also help draft content, such as contract deliverables, marketing deliverables, and internal and external communications. You will also create and review templates for government customers to ensure that all content and formatting meets government requirements, which will also require reading and interpreting government contracts.
How will you contribute?
Write and edit content for proposals, including bios and resumes for scientists and engineers
Edit contract deliverables, such as status reports and final reports, and some marketing materials, such as company descriptions for different social media platforms
Review technical content for correct grammar, formatting, functionality, and style guide adherence
Read and interpret contract guidelines for deliverable requirements, and create and review templates based on these requirements
Maintain Salesforce contract descriptions, ensuring information is up to date and accurate
Ensure that all deliverables sent to customers have appropriate IP and CUI markings
Maintain improve existing processes, such as ensuring Salesforce contract records are up to date and accurate
What do you need?
BA or BS, with a minimum of 5 years experience; experience with scientific or technical content preferred
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Strong proofreading and editing skills
Highly organized, self-motivated, and detail-oriented
Proficiency and experience editing in MS Word, and a working knowledge of Adobe Acrobat and PowerPoint
Able to handle multiple projects under tight deadlines while maintaining a high level of quality and accuracy
Excellent technical writing skills
Excellent attention to detail – passionate about making sure that every part of a document is perfect
Excellent editing skills; the ability to find and fix grammar and spelling mistakes, even in papers with very technical content
A self-starter who can manage their own daily workload and balance competing priorities
