How will you make an impact?

The Manufacturing Supervisor leads a team of manufacturing associates in the production of cutting-edge viral vector gene therapies. The supervisor is responsible for setting tasks and goals for their team and ensuring the team executes to the highest cGMP standards. The supervisor is responsible in setting their team up for success in the execution of the various biomanufacturing performed at the Cambridge VVS site by providing coaching and guidance to their team and ensuring the team is appropriately trained.

The Manufacturing Supervisor will also support equipment, documentation, investigations and improvement initiatives within the manufacturing operations. Works independently with minimal supervision and direction. Performs work that consistently requires independent decision making and the exercise of independent judgment and discretion.

What will you do?

  • Lead a team of 3-6 manufacturing technicians

  • Ensure all tasks scheduled within the shift for the team are executed compliantly in alignment with SOPs and all relevant documents reviewed.

  • Team with Engineering to ensure equipment readiness for campaign start

  • Team with facilities and Quality to ensure suite readiness from a change in and compliance stand point

  • Practices and promotes safe work habits and adheres to safety procedures and guidelines

  • Utilizes manufacturing process knowledge and investigational skills to identify and resolve manufacturing issues and drive continuous improvement in process operations

  • Support and develop consistent manufacturing standards for controlled documents used within cGMP manufacturing

  • Performs training, coaching and guidance with staff on the floor to ensure team is executing at the highest GMP standards.

  • Supports cross-functional company goals

  • First point of contact for issues from the floor and provides guidance to team on correct and compliant path forward.

  • Works cooperatively with other functions to resolve issues raised from the manufacturing floor

  • Meet with employees regularly to discuss goals, planning, and progress.

  • Develops self and others to improve performance in current role and to prepare for future roles

  • Seeks and welcomes feedback and responds to coaching

  • Recognizes and celebrates successes

How will you get here?

Education:

  • Bachelor's in Life Sciences, Engineering or related field - preferred. A combination of experience and education will be considered. HS Diploma or equivalent - required.

Experience:

  • 3+ years' GMP manufacturing experience - required.

  • 2+ years of management and people leadership experience - preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Thorough knowledge of cGMPs and applicable regulatory requirements. strongly preferred

  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills; written and oral

  • Ability to function in a fast paced, dynamic environment with multiple priorities simultaneously

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.

  • Ability to make decisions and work with minimal to moderate supervision.

  • Able to provide effective written or verbal communication to peers, senior associates, and area management within their operational groups

  • Strong planning, organization and multitasking skills

  • Solid understanding of applicable regulatory requirements.

  • Ability to aseptically gown and/or sterile gown and work in clean rooms
