About the Role

The Strategic Pricing Manager will be part of a team focused on shaping and implementing pricing and business model strategies for Elsevier Health. This is a high-visibility role that provides access to Senior Leadership and opportunities for career advancement. In this role you will work across all levels of the organization to perform value-based pricing analysis and lead cross-functional pricing projects. You will also make recommendations to management regarding pricing levels, discounts, and contract negotiations for new and existing products. You will also ensure excellence in pricing execution, including the development of discounting policies and implementation of pricing strategies in CRM.

Responsibilities

  • Performing analysis and related project management supporting the development of product pricing strategy

  • Developing and maintaining price schedules and discounting policies for existing solutions and products

  • Developing pricing strategies for new products

  • Conducting market facing surveys to understand customer valuation and willingness to pay

  • Pricing model development/data analysis

  • Delivering recommendations to management on individual product and cross-portfolio pricing

  • Taking a leading role in negotiations on individual deal pricing

  • Collaborating with commercial strategy, marketing, sales, and finance on pricing initiatives

Requirements

  • Have experience with a pricing or major strategy consulting firm, including pricing related project work or a comparable corporate pricing background

  • Possess Experience in setting and implementing value-based pricing strategy

  • Demonstrate ability to think strategically and get to the “story behind the numbers”

  • Be able to conduct analyses and make recommendations with imperfect or incomplete information

  • Have the ability to conduct analyses and make recommendations with imperfect or incomplete information

  • Be able to create high quality, actionable analysis that drives business decisions

  • Possess advanced quantitative and analytical skills

  • Be able to communicate across all levels of an organization

  • Demonstrate Sensitivity to multi-cultural differences and practice
