Google Staff Software Engineer, iOS, YouTube in Cambridge, Massachusetts

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

  • 8 years of professional software development experience.

  • Software development experience in Objective-C or Swift, and iOS or OS X frameworks.

  • Experience designing, running, and analyzing software experiments.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with video, audio, graphics, or media industries.

  • Experience with C++ and Python.

  • Experience in analytics, including client performance analytics.

  • Experience in full stack video engineering or full stack media.

  • Experience triaging and diagnosing user playback problems.

  • Experience managing and mentoring software engineers.

  • Lead designs of major software components, systems, and features while helping build a team and cultivate innovation through cross-collaboration.

  • Manage individual projects priorities, deadlines and deliverables with your technical expertise related to iOS development.

  • Mentor and train other team members on design techniques and coding standards.

  • Work on iOS client development with backend and server-side development.

  • Cultivate ways to improve the quality of video and audio playbacks.
