Oracle Senior Pre-Sales Cloud Architect | Department of Defense DOD team in Cambridge, Massachusetts

Provides direction and specialist knowledge in applying the technology/application to client business. Facilitation of customer product/application understanding through presentations demonstrations and benchmarks; provision of support throughout the sell.

As a Senior Sales Consultant you will be responsible for providing presales technical / functional support to prospective clients and customers while ensuring customer satisfaction with minimal supervision. Acts as a technical resource for less experienced Sales Consultants. Develop and deliver high quality standard Oracle presentations and demonstrations. Present and articulate advanced product features and benefits, product future direction and overall Oracle solutions. Design, validate, and present Oracle software solutions to include advanced product concepts, future direction, and 3rd party complimentary products. Develop and manage reference sites through high quality technical, professional client relationships.

Job duties are varied and complex, needing independent judgment. May have project lead role. 5 years vendor (sales and marketing) experience. 5 years relevant computer applications or database/tools. Demonstrated proficiency in one multi-user operating system. Through knowledge of system and application design. Strong verbal and written communication skills: needs analysis, positioning, business justification, closing techniques. Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical problems with accounts in complex technical environments. Ability to travel as needed. BS degree or equivalent; advanced degree desirable.

A Cloud Architect for the United States Public Sector Federal Department of Defense Division is a highly motivated, technical sales oriented individual who has an excellent balance of technical, industry and consultative solution sales knowledge and experience. Strong presentation and demonstration skills are required.

The Mission:

Your mission is to work with Oracle Public Sector -Department of Defensecustomers to design, architect and help them realize value for their organization needs for on premise/hosted environments, migration strategies to move their environments to Oracle Technology, Oracle DoD Cloud, and to develop their next generation solutions on the Oracle DoD Cloud. You will work with internal business development strategists, and several other internal Oracle teams, including Product Management, Solution Specialists, and Development to craft highly scalable, flexible and resilient architectures that address customer business problems and accelerate the adoption of Oracle technology and Cloud services. In collaboration with Public Sector sales, you will drive revenue growth across a broad set of customers and help our customers accelerate adoption of Oracles License Software, Oracle DoD Cloud IaaS and PaaS e.g. Compute, Storage, Database as a Service, Exadata as a Service, and more

Responsibilities & Qualification

  • In partnership with the sales team, formulate and execute a technical sales strategy to exceed revenue objectives through the adoption of Oracle Technology and Oracle Cloud deployments.

  • As a trusted customer advocate, you will help customers understand best practices around advanced on-premises and, cloud-based solutions, and how to migrate existing workloads to these solutions.

  • Work with top customers to help shape and execute a strategy to develop their next generation solutions on Oracle Technology and the Oracle DoD Cloud.

  • Hands-on experience leading the design, development and deployment of enterprise application software or current hands on technology infrastructure, network, compute, storage, and virtualization experience

  • Integration of cloud services with on premise technologies from Oracle, Microsoft, IBM, HP, SAP, etc

  • As a key technical member of the Public Sector DoD Sales team, ensure success in building and migrating applications, software and services on Oracle Technology and the Oracle Cloud platform.

  • Educate customers of all sizes on the value proposition of Oracle and participate in deep architectural discussions to ensure solutions are designed for successful deployment in the cloud or on-premise as needed.

  • Conduct training sessions to transfer knowledge to customers considering or already using Oracle Technology.

  • Act as a technical liaison between customers, service engineering teams and support.

  • Leverage your influence, leadership skills, and unmatched enthusiasm to support sales leaders and highly motivated sales consultants and cloud specialists in closing deals with customers.

  • Develop a deep expertise in Oracle Technology offerings as well as broad know-how around how applications and services are constructed using the Oracle Cloud platform.

  • Lead the efforts to share best-practice knowledge amongst the Oracle Technology community. You will learn from, collaborate with, and educate some of the brightest technical minds in the industry today across the breadth of enterprise architecture.

  • Help lead and generate excitement and usage of Oracle Technology across various Public Sector segments.

  • Passion: Working with top Public Sector DoD customers: educating, training, designing, and building Oracle Technology solutions for some of the largest and most important organizations in the world.

  • Creative: Enjoy creating and delivering compelling presentations, product demos, sample solutions, and discussions to drive adoption of Oracle Technology.

Qualifications:

  • Have owned or at least been involved in the platforming choices and decisions for an on-premise to Cloud journey

  • Experience migrating to or architecting microservices cloud solutions and/or containers or has built such green-fieldcloud native applications

  • Experience architecting, building, and maintaining Cloud applications on any popular platform e.g.,* Oracle OCI, Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud.*

  • CLOUD CERTIFICATION HIGHLY PREFERRED

  • Knowledge of DoD DISA Cloud SRG, DoD IL5, FEDRAMP, DIA-RMF, STIG, FIPS, Common Crtieria, IPv6, etc.

  • Experience migrating from on-premise to the cloud and/or experience architecting and developing a next generation Cloud offerings

  • Ability to map enterprise architectures through solution and technical architectures that deliver expected business benefits and prove to be resilient in the face of changing business requirements

  • A strong understanding of Enterprise Architecture

  • Strong executive speaking and presentation skills - Formal presentations, white boarding, large and small group presentations

  • Technical and customer-facing skills that will allow them to be the technical interface between Oracle Technology teams and end customers

  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent. Advanced degree highly desirable

  • Willingness to travel approximately 25% to 50%
