Location

Cambridge, MA - This is not a remote based role. It will require frequent travel to all local MA sites.

How will you make an impact?

The Senior Manager, Learning and Development is a people leader and professional in translating colleague learning needs into effective and efficient training programs. The position has responsibility for training strategy deployment including instructional design, program development, delivery of instruction and performance improvement initiatives. This position will collaborate across all sites on cGMP, operational, and project-support training programs. The position will play a key role in oversight of new employee onboarding and training to support an outstanding employee experience and drive organizational success.

What will you do?

  • Manage a team to develop and facilitate innovative learning solutions that teach colleagues the knowledge, skills, and processes for effective job performance.

  • Collaborate to develop measurement criteria of key learning metrics.

  • Evaluate organizational performance to ensure that training is meeting business needs and improving operational performance.

  • Collaborate with above-division learning teams, LMS system owners and site training teams to build training matrices, learning plans and processes that support organizational goals.

  • Drive continuous performance improvement.

  • Responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance through training programs and support of regulatory inspections as well as internal and external audits.

  • Select and manage resources, technologies, technical personnel, and vendors required to develop, manage and deliver training.

  • Keep abreast of training trends, developments and current leaders with vision in the field.

How will you get here?

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in instructional design, organizational development, life sciences, industrial psychology or a related field - required. A master's degree preferred in a training/development field.

Experience:

  • 10+ years of related work experience in training, instructional design or other learning/development field in a corporate, scientific and/or biotech manufacturing environment.

  • Experience leading a team of professionals in designing, developing, and delivering colleague training programs using a full complement of training methods.

  • Proven track record in leading cross-functionally and collaborating across the business to execute programs.

  • Experience working in ISO or cGMP operations.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Proficient in the principles of adult learning theory and learning methodologies.

  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong leadership and fantastic organizational skills with the ability to work with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.

  • Proficient at public speaking, teaching and facilitating to peers, staff, and management as well as experience addressing regulatory agencies and auditing bodies.

  • Ability to lead cross-functionally in a dynamic fast-paced environment and balance multiple priorities.
