Sage Therapeutics Senior Financial Analyst, Corporate Systems & Reporting in Cambridge, Massachusetts

General Scope and Summary

SAGE Therapeutics is searching for a resourceful and integrative thinker for an important role within SAGE’s FP&A team supporting the administration of our Hyperion financial planning system. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Corporate Finance, this individual’s primary objective will be to provide tactical support for the evolving reporting and analytical needs of the organization. This position will play a significant role in supporting FP&A’s budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting processes.

Roles and Responsibilities

Corporate FP&A:

  • Assist in managing the monthly close and consolidation process.

  • Prepare and distribute monthly consolidated management reporting packages and dashboards.

  • Understand and articulate the business narrative and context for the numbers.

  • Independently perform Corporate FP&A analysis on multiple topics.

  • Collaborate with Accounting to generate external reporting.

Hyperion Administration:

  • Establish fluency with the Hyperion Planning system and associated Oracle ERP system.

  • Maintain detailed knowledge of all aspects of the Planning system and data structures to ensure integrity of the numbers.

  • Assist with tactical system administration processes (e.g., performing monthly data loads and reconciliations from ERP, setup and administration of forecasts, and understanding business rules and variables).

  • Work with consultants to support long-term system improvement initiatives.

  • Effectively communicate system details across a wide group of stakeholders with varying levels of technical knowledge.

Experience, Education and Specialized Knowledge and Skills

Must have excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to develop important relationships with key stakeholders, good conflict management and negotiation skills, and the ability to identify issues and raise to key stakeholders in order to develop relevant and realistic plans, programs, and recommendations. Must have a demonstrated ability to translate strategy into action, excellent analytical skills, and an ability to communicate complex issues in a simple way and to orchestrate plans to resolve issues and mitigate risks.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree.

  • 3+ years of Finance experience with 1+ year of Hyperion/Oracle experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, IT, or Business.

  • Strong technical understanding of the financial systems and planning and reporting processes

  • Strong desire to contribute to financial analyses across an array of Corporate initiatives.

  • Strong Excel skills and hands-on experience with analysis and modeling.

  • Willingness to learn the administrative side of financial planning systems.

  • Demonstrated success collaborating with cross-functional team members.

  • Desire to grow within the role and take on greater responsibilities.

  • Ability to manage multiple deliverables simultaneously.

  • Strong team player that has a customer service approach and is solution-oriented.

  • Possesses strong written and verbal communication skills.
