About the Role

As a Sales Representative at Thermo Fisher Scientific, you will have the unique opportunity to be part of our ambitious sales team and play a crucial role in our mission to make the world a better place. In this position, you will be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with biotechnology customers in the Boston area. Your exceptional sales skills and proven ability to successfully implement sales strategies will be key in driving growth and achieving targets.

Candidates must be located within commutable distance of Boston, MA.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain effective customer relations within assigned territory.

  • Independently make decisions, while also using available resources to meet customer needs and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams; Actively seeks to establish broader relationships within the account to support networking and prospecting.

  • Perform sales calls and vendor relations in person with all current and potential customers in the assigned Boston, MA territory.

  • Research competitor and industry activity to keep informed of new products/services.

  • Manage pricing within territory to control profitability.

  • Maintain accurate reporting, records, and files necessary for proper management of territory.

  • Communicate with supervisor any customer issues or potential problems, perform other tasks assigned by manager.

  • Inform customers of supply and price trends and assist in inventory control, consults with customers.

  • Positively represent Thermo Fisher Scientific at all times throughout customer locations.

Keys to Success:

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in the sciences; equivalent education will also be considered.

Experience

  • 2+ years experience in sales preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Proven track record in sales.

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Capability to flourish in a fast-moving and achievement-focused workplace.

  • Willing to travel within Boston, MA and surrounding area.
