Job Summary

Reporting to a Head RWE data and analytics engagement lead (EL) or other member of the RWE Leadership team, The RWE data and analytics Engagement Lead Senior Director (ELD) will be the point of Interface with specific Business units (GBUs), functions and, countries to identify data and analytics requirements and to help to turn the output of analytics models into business actions. The ELD will champion the use of RWE advance analytics capabilities in the specific GBUs and will ensure best practice sharing of innovative techniques and projects. The ELD will work with the GBUs leadership to identify innovative RWE projects that will benefit from the RWE and Clinical Outcomes team capabilities and to develop a prioritized RWE strategy aligned to business needs. The ELD will also lead delivery teams within the RWE & CO capability to coordinate strategic development, design, planning and delivery of RWE programs to agreed timelines, quality and budget, using appropriate data, analytical expertise, and rigorous methodology. The ELD will collaborate with cross-functional experts to lead the development and delivery of RWE programs that support key business priorities

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Participate as member of Medical Affairs Therapy area team and/or other relevant GBU/function team to identify data and analytics requirements

  • Accountable as project delivery lead for coordination of strategic development, design, planning and delivery of innovative RWE programs to agreed timelines, quality and budget, using appropriate data, analytical expertise, and rigorous methodology

  • Ensure global RWE governance processes are followed.

  • Collaborate with other EL, ELDs, HEVA business partners, Medical Affairs leaders and Epidemiologists to ensure RWE needs are aligned and forecast with business priorities across relevant customer groups

  • Collaborate with RWE data sourcing leaders to maximize data hub and other external collaboration opportunities

  • Participate in the broader RWE peer review and challenge process

  • Share knowledge and best practice with other EL and ELD

  • Drive best practice and innovation in RWE for the specific area of responsibility

  • Perform other duties, as assigned

Formal Experience and Education

  • Degree in a scientific discipline (e.g., BS, MS, PhD) (MD preferred) with substantial project management and drug development/commercialization experience.

  • 5 years of professional experience in the industry managing observational studies and application of RWE in the R&D and/or commercial setting

Knowledge and Skills

  • Deep understanding of the purpose and need for real world evaluation

  • Good understanding of strength and limitations of RWE/observational studies

  • Familiarity with one or more Disease and/or Therapy Areas

  • Appreciation of the regulatory/payer environment and reimbursement activities

  • Significant experience working closely with at least one other functional area (e.g. Discovery, Development, Global Marketing, Marketing Companies)

  • Excellent networking and influencing skills

  • Ability to communicate in a credible and confident manner

  • Ability to lead a multi-functional team
