The Biology 4 Drug Discovery group in Cambridge, US, is seeking a B.S./M.S. scientist to boost our efforts to discover novel therapeutics and drug targets. This global group consists of several laboratories organized under the theme of chemical biology with chemists and biologists working together in a highly collaborative environment. Your responsibilities include, but not limited to: - Perform research as a leading bench scientist - Develop disease-relevant cell-based assays and perform mechanistic studies to characterize compounds and biologics in close collaboration with our disease area partners (including, but not limited, to oncology, neuroscience, immunology, ophthalmology and respiratory). - Design and execute cell and molecular biology experiments, interpret and challenge results, and generate new hypotheses and next steps - Work in interdisciplinary teams to share expertise and collaborate toward shared goals - Frequent oral data communication/presentation - Organizational skills for design and tracking experiments, study results, and reagents \n\n\n\n Position Title: Research Scientist, Chemical Biology and Therapeutics Minimum requirements: What You'll Bring to the Role: - B.A./B.S. and a minimum of 1-2 years laboratory experience in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology - Experienced or ability to quickly learn cell and molecular biology techniques that may include cell culture, transfection/electroporation, stable cell line generation by lentivirus or CRISPR, immunofluorescence, proliferation, flow cytometry, reporter assays, RNAi, cloning, PCR, qRT-PCR, immunoprecipitation, SDS-PAGE, Western Blot, liquid handling robotics and familiarity studying cell biology and phenotypes with small molecules - Experience with Microsoft Office and data analysis software - Ability to design, perform, analyze, and interpret experiments - Highly self-motivated, fast learner, flexible, innovative and courageous - Thrives in a collaborative environment - Excellent oral and written communication skills Why consider Novartis? 769 million.
