Additional Information:This is a three-year term position from the date of hire, with the possibility of extension, contingent upon work performance and continued funding to support the position.

Job Function:Finance Position Description:Reporting to the Assistant Director of Finance, this position provides comprehensive pre-and post-award research support for multiple research groups portfolios within the department of Immunology. This position oversees the full lifecycle of grants from a diverse range of federal sponsoring agencies, non-federal institutions, industry and foundations plus internal Harvard funding which consists of startup fund and gift accounts in the Department of Immunology.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assist in the preparation of grant and fellowship applications, including budget development, hands-on guidance, and review for accuracy and completeness.

  • Develop and maintain accurate financial projections for faculty members, proposing alternative spending plans as needed.

  • Authorize payments and procurement transactions for all lab expenditures, ensuring compliance with financial policies and regulations.

  • Reconcile financial accounts on a monthly basis, prepare corrective and routine costing allocations in the general ledger, and manage effort certifications.

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, granting agency, and university policies and regulations, communicating policy updates to faculty and lab personnel.

  • Proactively escalate issues and concerns to the Assistant Finance Director in a timely manner.

  • Collaborate with a team of research administrators to streamline processes and ensure efficient grant management.

  • Clearly communicate technical and financial information to faculty, lab personnel, and stakeholders in a timely manner.

  • Perform any additional job duties as required to support the department's research efforts.

Additional details will be discussed during the interview process.
