Schlumberger Research Engineer in Cambridge, Massachusetts

Description and Responsibilities :

The successful candidate will be working on a team with fellow research engineers and scientists on projects related to development of Decarbonization Technology across a range of energy technologies. The candidate will be expected to work primarily in a laboratory environment, setting-up and operating customized instruments, basic experimental design and execution, and reporting results to principal investigators. In addition, the candidate will be responsible for regular tasks related to equipment maintenance, overall lab organization, and lab safety.

Required skills/experience:

  • Bachelors or Master level in Mechanical/Chemical/Civil Engineering, Physics, or Chemistry

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Strength in experimental work with demonstrable experience involving:

  • Ability to translate design concepts into physical prototypes

  • Design, construction, and operation of custom-built instruments

  • Ability to optimize equipment capabilities and troubleshoot problems

  • Ability to perform experiments as well as acquire data (https://resumecat.com/career/research-engineer/skills)

  • Programming skills related to instrumentation or data collection and analysis, such as Python, LabView, or equivalent

Preferable skills/experience:

  • Experience in hazardous chemical handling

  • Experience in instrumentation

  • Experience in basic machine shop skills
