PROGRAM MANAGER, MIT Energy Initiative (MITei)-Low-Carbon Energy Center (LCEC), to serve as a member of and work closely with the leadership team and staff to orchestrate, implement, and oversee the growth of MITEI’s Low-Carbon Energy Centers. The LCECs employ a uniquely inclusive model that draws partners from many sectors to develop deployable solutions that can meet global energy needs sustainably. Responsibilities include liaising with LCEC members and supporting robust member engagement, workshop planning and follow-up, and organizing opportunities for cross-center dialogue and idea generation; coordinating with MITEI leadership identify, engage, and recruit new LCEC members; helping LCEC members pursue sponsored research collaborations with faculty/researchers through regular workshops and additional follow up communications; supporting LCEC members in pursuing cosponsored research opportunities when appropriate; driving connections between members and MIT faculty broadly; facilitating development of new project themes for centers; working with MITEI’s executive director and senior fiscal officer to track finances of LCECs and reporting to MITEI senior management; liaising with MITEI research director to ensure timely delivery of techno-economic assessment to members of each Center and ensuring smooth contract flow through MIT Office of Sponsored Programs; and working with MITEI finance to address issues regarding existing project accounts, budgets, and no cost extensions.
REQUIRED: undergraduate technical degree (advanced degree preferred); ten years’ experience; demonstrated ability to promote teamwork and team-building and to communicate with and bring together industry, faculty, and researchers across all levels to collaborate and problem solve; excellent interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills; and ability to work independently, influence others, manage multiple and sometimes competing priorities and meet deadlines.
