Join our Procurement Operations Team!

The Global Procurement team defines category management and sourcing strategies as well as oversee and negotiate new and existing supplier contracts on behalf of Akamai. The team works collaboratively with suppliers and internal stakeholders to identify continuous cost and performance improvement strategies, and ensures Akamai is compliant with best practices and existing business policies and procedures.

Partner with the best

The Procurement Specialist will support Strategic Sourcing, Procurement, Supplier Diversity, and Supplier Relationships in purchased goods and services within Marketing and Facility Services, as well as the governance of the procurement process. You will interact closely with senior leaders of the company in the development and implementation of strategic sourcing for identified categories, and delivering total cost of ownership savings and procurement process improvements

As a Procurement Specialist, you will be responsible for:

  • Supporting Director of Procurement in the development and implementation of Category Strategy in line with the established overall Procurement Strategy.

  • Coordinating and executing strategic sourcing activities in line with the category strategy and managing the pipeline of sourcing requests

  • Reviewing sourcing & procurement requests and enforce global and category specific policy adherenceas well as executing Spot Buying

  • Facilitating the Procure to Pay process, analytics, research, and administrative functions of the procurement organization while developing market intelligence needed for effective sourcing

  • Supporting and coordinating reporting and analytics: spend, benefit/cost savings, KPI/metrics, andmaintaining master data

  • Supporting management and compliance management

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have Facilities sourcing and contracts knowledge to be able to execute sourcing strategies in line with the overall category strategy

  • Have ability to challenge internal processes, requirements, policies to open new sourcing or cost reduction opportunities.

  • Have ability to work collaboratively with suppliers and internal stakeholders to identify continuous cost and performance improvement strategies

  • Have General understanding of the Marketing & Communications category, Marketing Technology, Commercial Brand and Agencies, and digital media

  • Have experience and knowledge of Facilities Services (managed services), preferably on a global basis
