Microsoft Corporation Principal Product Manager, Commerce and Eco-systems in Cambridge, Massachusetts

The Marketplace team within the Commerce and Ecosystems engineering (C+E) group is responsible for the growth and success of our commercial marketplace – both Microsoft AppSource and Azure Marketplace. This team also creates delivery models and business strategies and drives internal alignment to engage our cloud partners successfully across their journey with Microsoft.

Category Management takes a deep category-specific view of the marketplace business, focusing on driving and executing the business strategy for each category with the ultimate objective of accelerating the sale of partner (publisher) solutions through marketplace. Marketplace category managers may work on horizontal categories (Analytics, IOT, LOB and ERP) and verticals such as manufacturing, financial services, and retail.

To drive sales growth, it is critical that we prioritize, build, and land the most impactful features and capabilities for the growth of the business. To accomplish this, the Category Management team works closely with our top-performing marketplace publishers and with top strategic publishers in each category driving the bulk of billed sales today and those representing the highest potential for growth going forward. We incorporate their voice, along with our internal product teams, and combine that with category intelligence, to inform and prioritize the features we build. Once built, we must partner closely with these same publishers to validate what we’ve built and accelerate their adoption of these features at scale.

Cloud Platform and Experiences supports our employees in all locations around the country. This job has the option to be remote or located in one of our hubs: Atlanta, Houston, Charlotte or Redmond.
