About This Role:
Forrester is looking for a Principal Analyst to join our Future of Work team. This role helps senior-level executives in human capital management (HCM) enhance our clients’ workforce strategies focused on the areas of recruitment/retention, motivation and engagement, governance, development, and performance.
Our ideal Principal Analyst is innovative, sees beyond workplace conventions, and is passionate about exploring new experiences in the Future of Work. The candidate must be confident and able to present to and advise executive-level clients across industries, inspiring and influencing them with forward-looking best practices and technology solutions that drive high-performing companies with superior employees.
This requires conducting and publishing innovative research and delivering advice through one-on-one advisory sessions, consulting projects, client inquiries, and speeches.
Develop a deep understanding of how CEOs, CIOs, COOs, and CHROs develop people strategies that enable them to deliver success for their customers and company.
Leverage substantial knowledge of the HCM technology market and the competitive landscape such as ADP, Ultimate/ Kronos, Oracle, SAP SuccessFactors, and Workday to guide clients in evaluation, integration, and data management.
Help define the future of HCM by developing forward-looking insights on key trends, models, best practices, and what executive and leaders need to do to prepare.
Conduct primary research and synthesize data to produce in-depth analyses that convey new ideas framed for our executive clients, tech leaders, and vendors on a full range of employee experience (HR) and workforce topics such as creating contemporary work environments and behavior, building innovative employee experiences, quantifying and prioritizing investments in employees and technology, and implementing enterprisewide human transformation initiatives.
Produce many expressions of your research in the form of short- and long-form written research, infographics, audio and video content, blogs, and podcasts.
Consult with clients to apply Forrester’s research in the context of their business environment and help solve their problems through inquiry and advisory.
Establish an industry presence as an influential speaker and thinker. Participate in vendor briefings and field press inquiries as necessary.
Help our clients anticipate how employee experience will evolve near term and in the Future of Work and how they can impact their business and capitalize on these expected changes.
Provide telephone and email responses to inquiries placed by Forrester clients.
Present at Forrester-sponsored and industry-related events and deliver client webinars.
Provide business development support via telephone and face-to-face meetings with Forrester prospects as arranged by Forrester’s account leadership teams.
A B.A. or B.S. degree; MBA or M.S. is preferred.
A minimum of 10 years’ experience as a practitioner or consultant in employee-focused environments, people strategy, HCM tech firms, or a related field.
Experience in developing, writing, and presenting leading-edge thinking around human capital issues including organization design, culture, structure, talent, technology, and employee experience in either a corporate or consulting environment.
A demonstrable experience with metrics and governance.
Great intellectual curiosity about the effect of technology on customers and how executives and tech leaders can leverage these insights to improve their people strategies.
The ability to take complex, disparate ideas and distill them into simple, provocative concepts — and be willing to take a stand on vendors and outcomes.
Superior client-facing communication, listening, critical thinking, and collaboration skills with researchers, analytics, subject matter experts, and account leaders.
Interest in the current relationship between humans and machines in the context of the Future of Work.
The ability to travel 30% to 50% of the time (in a normal business and travel circumstance).
