Description

Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine is recruiting for an outstanding Postdoctoral Scientist to join the Data Science & Digital Health (DSDH) team.

Primary Location: Cambridge, MA; Spring House, PA; Titusville, NJ and will consider Remote work.

The Digital Health & Biomarker Analytics team within DSDH develops innovative insights and solutions focusing on analytics of data from digital health technologies to measure what matters to patients across multiple therapeutic areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Independently partner with teams within and outside of Data Science to execute on the priorities, build a roadmap to deliver the projects from conceptualizing the research questions, data feasibility, study design and analysis to final presentation to senior cross-functional leaders and publication

  • Contribute to study design in collaboration with Therapeutic Area teams across Janssen, such as defining “what” and “why” particular digital phenotypes need to be measured.

  • Inform digital health technology selection and contribute to analysis planning.

  • Building novel algorithms from sensor data to quantify health-related behaviors.

  • Communicate results to internal collaborators and external partners through project reports and peer reviewed research publications.

Qualifications

  • A recent Ph.D. degree within 3 years in a quantitative field such as computer science, electrical engineering, biomedical engineering, statistics or a related field.

  • Experience in analyzing data from wearable biosensors (e.g., accelerometer, gyroscope, ECG, PPG, EMG, EEG, voice).

  • Expert proficiency in at least one scripting language (Python or R preferred) and experience writing re-usable and well-documented code.

  • Strong background in data science, signal processing, and machine learning

  • In-depth knowledge and experience in analysis of time series data from sensors

  • Demonstrated scientific excellence as measured by publications and presentations.

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.

  • Ability to work in a dynamic and collaborative environment.

Preferred:

  • Experience with large-scale data processing and integrating multi-modal datasets.

  • Experience with statistical methods for longitudinal data such as mixed effects models.

  • Familiarity with drug discovery and the clinical development process.

Other:

  • Up to 10% travel.

Expected Base Salary: $95,000 / yr
