AFFOA is dedicated to accelerating the pace of innovation in advanced textiles through R&D, transitioning and integrating fiber and fabric technologies into products with dual-use applications. The Institute is uniquely positioned to establish and build supply chains to rapidly prototype for DoD and commercial needs and focuses on preparing and building the workforce of the future that can support these new manufacturing needs. AFFOA partners with its member companies including startups, universities, manufacturers, commercial industry, and defense partners to bring advanced fiber technologies to market. Position Overview AFFOA is seeking a Marketing & Communications Manager to manage and execute the institute's marketing, membership, and communication strategies. The ideal candidate will be flexible, highly detail-oriented, and have excellent interpersonal and communication skills. This position requires the ability to work with minimal direction, the capacity to move quickly and be flexible while delivering high-quality results. The successful candidate will have experience working with a variety of marketing systems, social media, creating compelling external facing communications, event management, and working with a variety of programs. Additionally, the candidate should have a go-getter attitude that can take initiative and work with minimal direction when needed. As a part of an integrated team, the role will report to VP New Business Development & Partnerships, and work closely with external partners, finance, business development, program management, product and technical staff. Significant collaboration within AFFOA and members of its ecosystem will be required. This position is located at AFFOA headquarters in Cambridge with some work from home opportunities. Some travel may be required.
