Generation Bio seeks an energetic and highly motivated individual to manage the operations of Generation Bio’s research laboratories. This individual hired will also serve as the primary contact for laboratory staff and vendors. This is a very crossfunctional and highly visible role which will impact the growth of Generation Bio tremendously.
Managing existing and/or developing new systems/processes to improve laboratory operations, manage vendor relationships and service contracts, etc.
Develop and oversee Generation Bio’s laboratory environmental health and safety program.
Manage the storage and cataloging of samples and document protocols and collaborate with the principal scientists and other lab members to oversee the lab's research activities.
Provide training on general lab operations, onboarding of new laboratory-based staff, equipment, protocols, and safety.
Work directly with Sourcing and Procurement functions to manage consumable supply inventories and laboratory orders.
Supervision of onsite personnel and facilities oversight throughout the laboratories. (e.g., researching, procuring, and maintaining equipment/instruments, Hazardous and Nonhazardous waste management and routine maintenance, organizing clean-ups and safety inspections.
Maintain the asset management database and assist in the preparation of budget and asset management.
Inventory and maintain biological/chemical registrations and inventories.
Maintain laboratory SharePoint website, laboratory software/licenses, data storage, and workstations, ensuring appropriate record-keeping.
All other duties as requested.
Bachelors degree in a life sciences discipline
5+ years of experience in a lab management role preferred
Experience working in an industry environment preferred
Experience developing training materials for lab safety and operations
Experience developing and optimizing systems to ensure efficient lab management
Experience working in a fast paced laboratory environment
POSITION: Full-Time, Exempt
