Philips Head of Strategy and Business Development, Sleep & Respiratory Care in Cambridge, Massachusetts

As a key member of both the Sleep & Respiratory (S&RC) Business Leadership Team and the Strategy Leadership Team (SLT), the Head of Strategy & Business Development S&RC will be setting and executing the strategic direction for Philips’ Sleep & Respiratory Care business, with specific emphasis on driving growth through partnerships, portfolio innovation, expansion into adjacencies and commercial innovation.

The S&RC Business Unit is a global leader in sleep therapy and respiratory solutions and is primarily based in Pittsburgh, PA and Cambridge, MA. The S&RC Business Unit is part of the Philips Connected Care business, which has the ambition to seamlessly connect patients, caregivers and ultimately consumers both inside and outside the hospital. You will report to the Philips Head of Strategy, with a strong dotted line to the S&RC business leader.

This role will be located in either Philips’ Cambridge, MA office (preference) or Philips’ Pittsburgh, PA office.

Your Role:

  • Shape the strategic direction of S&RC in collaboration with the leadership team.

  • Refine S&RC’s value proposition, target markets, portfolio, and competitive positioning.

  • Identify and execute levers to achieve additional revenue growth.

  • Drive strategy execution by enabling fast, fact-based, and effective decision making.

  • Ensure that strategies are embedded in our Annual Operational Plan (AOP).

  • Set the inorganic agenda for the business, translating strategy into M&A, partnerships & ventures execution.

  • Anticipate emerging trends and changes in the industry, regulatory and competitive landscape,

  • Identify potential opportunities for growth and disruption across the sleep and respiratory spaces beyond the current business.

  • Foster a culture of innovation within the organization, encouraging the development of new ideas and exploring opportunities for disruptive technologies and business models.

  • Team up with senior management and interact with major customers to actively build a network to stay on top of new developments and insights in the market.

You're the right fit if:

  • Have 10+ years of experience, including senior roles in healthcare strategy and top tier management consulting firms.

  • Have experience leading transformation or turnaround initiatives to bring a business back on track.

  • Have in-depth knowledge of the healthcare ecosystem, medical technology or medical devices, preferably experience with sleep and respiratory solutions and/or durable medical equipment (DME) providers.

  • Demonstrated affinity for driving integrated solutions across hardware, software, and services.

  • Have a proven track record of strong portfolio management and understanding how different internal initiatives influence and impact the organization.

  • Have experience being part of senior leadership teams and proven track-record influencing, commanding and building strong working relationships to drive impact.

  • You have a strong executive presence and ability to influence decision making.

  • Demonstrate a track record of driving business growth through strategic acumen, innovation, partnerships and acquisitions.

  • Exhibit agility, adaptability, strong communication, a growth mindset, and collaborative execution.

  • Willingness to travel (15%)
