We are seeking an enthusiastic, well-rounded engineer to lead the Electromagnetics Design Group. This group focuses on electromagnetic phenomena and applications in antenna design and the interaction of waves with matter. Engineers in this group design HW for the next-generation RF and electromagnetic systems ranging from the conceptual stage to fieldable prototypes. Staff in this group have expertise in advanced electronic warfare techniques, antenna development, reverse engineering, plasma physics, and metamaterials. This is a design engineering position that requires the ability to apply sound engineering principles for the leadership and execution of electromagnetics development projects within the Electronics Division. The Group Leader is the first-level of engineering management and will be a hands-on technical leader. Specific responsibilities include working with the Division Leader to: a) support the career development, growth, and project assignments of the Group’s engineering staff; b) develop the Group’s technical vision and capabilities; and c) assist in the oversight of project execution within the group. In addition to the managerial responsibilities, the candidate will be a direct contributor to projects and business development activities. In this capacity, the selected candidate will collaborate with other staff members to develop and transition innovative technologies.
Responsibilities:
Hire, mentor, develop and support the career development, growth, and project assignments of the group’s engineering staff. Assist in the oversight of project execution within the group.
Research and development activities across a wide range of electromagnetic applications
RF system architecture, design, and prototyping
Detailed analysis, design, and optimization
Required Qualifications:
BS or MS (preferred) degree in Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, or a closely related field with greater than 8+ years of relevant experience.
Great EE fundamentals. Strong analysis and problem solving skills.
Experience in some or all the following areas is important: Antenna theory, PCB design and test, electromagnetics, communication theory, software defined radio
Hands-on experience in design, bring-up and debugging
Design of experiments, execution and data analysis.
Experience with some or all of the following tools: HFSS, CST, Microwave Office, ADS FEKO, COMSOL, Matlab/Simulink, Python, Mentor Graphics (or equivalent PCB design tool).
Security Requirement:
Willingness to travel. Active or recent DoD security clearance is required.
Applicants selected for this position will be required to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
